Entry Requirements
- You must be a registered healthcare professional with an active registration with a recognised regulatory body. You must have previously studied at Level HE5 or Level HE6.
- You must have current appropriate employment in a role where you have contact with pregnant people.
- You'll need access to a computer with the appropriate software and accessories, including a webcam, microphone and a sufficient broadband connection. You'll also need basic IT skills. In particular, you'll need to be able to access and use the University of Bolton's virtual learning environment, Moodle. Please contact the programme leader for details if you are uncertain that you'll be able to meet these requirements.
- You may be required to attend an interview and/or provide a portfolio of work.
- If English isn’t your first language, you’ll also need IELTS 7.0 with normally no less than 6.5 in any band (or equivalent). We also accept a range of other English language qualifications – please visit our English Language Requirements web page for more details.

Teaching & Assessment
Our team of experienced clinicians and academics will cover key topics through interactive online lectures featuring case-based discussions and group learning activities. You'll have access to structured independent study materials to engage with before attending the online sessions. During these sessions, you'll engage with various clinical cases, using patient signs and symptoms to explain underlying pathophysiology. Additionally, you'll need to read assigned texts to enhance your understanding of the lecture content in preparation for assessments. The course also includes a wealth of online learning resources accessible via Moodle, the University's virtual learning environment.
Formative assessment will support your learning but does not contribute to your final mark. You'll receive feedback from your tutors, allowing you to reflect on your progress and identify what you are doing well and where you may need extra help.
